Medicare Supplement Plan F is one of the more popular Medigap options. This is due in large part to its comprehensive array of benefits. The coverage offered through Medigap Plan F includes:

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Medicare Supplement Plan G

Medicare Supplement Plan G is also highly comprehensive. This plan provides all of the same coverage options as Plan F, other than the payment for the Medicare Part B annual deductible. (In 2022, the Part B deductible amount is $233).

Because Plan G does not offer this coverage option, the premium may be less than that of Medigap Plan F.

BCBS of TX Medicare Supplement Rates

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Medicare Supplement insurance rates may or may not be the most affordable in comparison to other Medigap carriers. Because of this, it is recommended that you obtain quotes from several different Medicare Supplement carriers before you commit to purchasing a plan.

This is particularly true because the Medigap plans of the same letter are required by law to offer the same set of benefits. (In other words, Medicare Supplement Plan G offers the same set of benefit options, regardless of which insurance carrier you purchase it through. The premium that is charged, however, can differ).

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of TX Medicare Advantage Plans

There is an alternate way to secure your Medicare coverage. This is through Medicare Part C – also known as Medicare Advantage. With a Medicare Advantage plan through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, you will have the same coverage that is available via Original Medicare. However, you may also have added benefits, such as vision, dental, and/or hearing coverage.

Many Medicare Advantage plans will also include Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. Therefore, the purchase of a separate, stand-alone Part D plan is not necessary. Medicare Part C plans are typically much more restrictive than Original Medicare.

For example, as many of these plans are set up like HMOs or PPOs, you are required to see only health care providers who are listed in the particular plan's network. You may also have to have a primary care doctor who acts as a "gatekeeper" before you can see specialist providers.

Your Medicare Options with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of TX

Making sure that you go with the best Medicare coverage can be somewhat overwhelming. Because of that, it is beneficial to work with a Medicare specialist that can guide you in terms of what coverage is available, as well as by providing you with quotes to compare from a wide variety of insurance carriers.

When you enroll in Medicare coverage through Bluewave Insurance, we will assist you throughout the application process, as well as long after the policy is in force. So, contact us today at (800) 208-4974 for any additional details that you need on Medicare insurance coverage.
